The use of the IvyLeagueProofreaders.com Website and the contracting of Ivy League Proofreaders services are both an acknowledgement and an acceptance of the Company’s terms and conditions as put forth in this document.

1.    Definitions

Company – “Ivy League Proofreaders” and “Ivy League Services, LLC” are the same entity also known as the Company, that provides services via the IvyLeagueProofreaders.com Website.

Customer – any person or organization who visits the IvyLeagueProofreaders.com Website or submits material for service via the Website.

Service – collectively, proofreading, editing or other fee-based document alterations provided by the Company.

2.    Confidentiality, privacy, ownership and copyright of material

We take your privacy very seriously. All members of our contracted staff have signed confidentiality agreements, stating that they will never disclose to a third party any identifying personal information about our clients or their work, in part or in whole, unless required to do so by law.

All material submitted to IvyLeagueProofreaders.com remains the intellectual property of the original author, who retains all rights and privileges granted by all applicable copyright laws. We will never share or reproduce any work, in part or in its entirety, submitted to IvyLeagueProofreaders.com without the express, written consent of the original author.

3.    Content of submitted or created materials

Ivy League Proofreaders adheres to the highest standards of ethical conduct. Consequently, we advise customers that copyright infringement and plagiarism are serious offenses. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service on documents that are discovered to contain copyrighted or plagiarized materials. In such a situation, the customer will be notified of the decision not to provide service on her work and will receive a full refund less a $5.00 processing fee.

Ivy League Proofreaders accepts no liability or responsibility for content contained in customer documents including, but not limited to, misleading statements, defamatory remarks or the infringement of any copyright laws. Furthermore, by contracting the service of Ivy League Proofreaders, the customer hereby indemnifies the Company from any resultant legal action taken in response to the content of the document submitted for service.

The customer agrees to review changes made to their submitted material by Ivy League Proofreaders. This responsibility constitutes an acceptance of changes made and an acknowledgement that Ivy League Proofreaders is not responsible or liable for the content of the material.

Users of IvyLeagueProofreaders.com are hereby prohibited from posting or transmitting to the site any virus infected, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or other material that would violate any law.

4.    Service quality

 Ivy League Proofreaders seeks to provide complete satisfaction to our customers. All documents serviced by the Company are done so to a high and exacting standard. However, we do not guarantee that edited documents are “perfect” or “error free.”

The customer is responsible for reviewing the serviced material upon completion and contacting Ivy League Proofreaders should any errors be discovered. Ivy League Proofreaders is not obligated to refund the cost of the service if a completed document is discovered to be less than perfect. We request that the customer contact us if not completely satisfied and we will work remedy the situation.

Ivy League Proofreaders is not liable for incidental, indirect, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages including lost revenues or profits, loss of business, or loss of data related to this service. This exemption applies to any claim, loss or injury based on errors or omissions, interruptions, or any other inaccuracies that may appear on the IvyLeagueProofreaders.com Website or in an edited customer document.

5.    Refusal of service

Ivy League Proofreaders reserves the right to refuse service to any customer or prospective customer for any reason and without explanation.

6.    Termination of service and contractual obligations

Ivy League Proofreaders reserves the right to terminate all services and contractual obligations with a customer in the event of the customer violating any of the terms and conditions contained herein.

A contract between the customer and Ivy League Proofreaders commences as soon as payment for the service is received by the Company. Receipt of payment by the Company is official confirmation that the customer is confirming that the works is to commence.

A customer may cancel the service at any time prior to the attempted delivery of completed materials by Ivy League Proofreaders via email or otherwise. Refund of payment is at the sole discretion of Ivy League Proofreaders and may be subject to fees including but not limited to bank and transfer fees, processing fees, administration fees, editor costs and overhead costs.

The customer is responsible for selecting the desired level of service at the time of submitting a project and providing an accurate word count of the submitted materials. The description of service provided on the IvyLeagueProofreaders.com Website and the accurate word count provided by the customer, in conjunction with these terms and conditions constitute the statement of work. The customer assumes all responsibility for any problems, errors, issues, as well as legal liability resulting from an incorrect statement of work. Ivy League Proofreaders reserves the right to cancel service to any customer where it is discovered that the word count provided by the customer is incorrect by a factor of more than one percent (1%). In this case a refund will be issues less any associated fees including but not limited to bank and transfer fees, processing fees, administration fees, editor costs and overhead costs.

Ivy League Proofreaders reserves the right to cancel service to any customer where a virus is suspected in submitted documents. In this case a refund will be issues less any associated fees including but not limited to bank and transfer fees, processing fees, administration fees, editor costs and overhead costs.

Ivy League Proofreaders reserves the right to cancel service to any customer for any reason and without explanation.

7.    Accuracy of customer information

The customer is responsible for providing true and accurate information with respect to their identifying personal and contact information. Failure to provide correct and accurate information can result in an incomplete or interrupted service. The customer assumes all responsibility for any problems, errors, issues, as well as legal liability resulting from such false information. The Company is not obligated to provide the customer with a refund in the event that problems with the service arise as a direct result of inaccurate customer information, but the Company may choose provide a refund, in part or in whole, at its sole discretion.

Ivy League Proofreaders pledges to make every reasonable effort to keep customer information confidential and secure.

8.    Financial fraud or theft

Ivy League Proofreaders is not liable or responsible for the fraudulent use of any payment method, including but not limited to credit cards that may be used to purchase its services.

9.    Ownership and copyright of business names and Website content

The business name “Ivy League Proofreaders” and the IvyLeagueProofreaders.com Website are owned and operated by Ivy League Services, LLC. All material on this Website and parent and subsidiary Websites including, but not limited to, copy, prices, services, and images are protected by international copyright and trademark law. These names and Website content cannot be copied, reproduced, used, republished, transmitted, printed, modified or framed without the express permission of Ivy League Services, LLC.

10.    Technical disclaimer

Ivy League Proofreaders is not liable or responsible fore service delays resulting unforeseen circumstances such as technical problems including server or connection issues that are beyond our control. We will make every effort to meet deadlines and communicate with customers in the case of technical problems.

Ivy League Proofreaders is not liable or responsible for any damage to computer hardware or software arising from the distribution of a computer virus through the use of the IvyLeagueProofreaders.com Website or system.

11.    Indemnification

The customer agrees to indemnify and hold Ivy League Proofreaders and anyone associated with Ivy League Proofreaders harmless for any claim or demand, including reasonable fees and costs for the service of an attorney, or as may be made by any third party due to or arising from use of the site or service, or violation of the terms and conditions by the customer, or infringement or any intellectual property or other right of any person or entity by the customer.

Ivy League Proofreaders gives no assurances or warranty regarding the accuracy, currency or applicability of any of the Web site contents in relation to specific situations and particular circumstances, and disclaims all liability in respect of such information.

12.    Jurisdiction

The Company is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey in the United States of America and by accepting these terms and conditions the customer submits to the jurisdiction of the courts in that state.

13.    Modification of terms and conditions

The terms and conditions contained herein may be modified, amended, altered, changed, reorganized, rewritten, or revoked at any time, for any reason and without notice.
